I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics and Languages at McMaster University. I’m also part of the research team at ARiEAL (McMaster’s Centre for Advanced Research in Experimental and Applied Linguistics).
Psycholinguistics and the cognitive neuroscience of language are my primary areas of specialization.
Most of my research concerns word recognition, lexical representation, or online syntactic structure-building. I’m interested in the neural and cognitive mechanisms for top-down context effects in language comprehension quite generally. I use or have used behavioural, electrophysiological, and neuroimaging data as well as computational modelling approaches.
Interested in working with me? I accept MSc and PhD students through the Cognitive Science of Language graduate program, and I supervise undergraduates doing a research practicum or honours thesis. If you’re finishing your PhD and think you’d be a good fit as a postdoc with me, get in touch so that we can discuss funding possibilities.
